Historic Building Cleaning

When it comes to cleaning historic or listed buildings extra care needs to be taken as the stone may be soft or damaged making it particularly vulnerable. Our unique equipment has a range of different operating modes making it extremely well-suited to cleaning historic buildings. We can ensure that the best possible results are achieved whilst mitigating risk of damage.

Our Approach

Our Process

Steam cleaning is used throughout the world for cleaning historic buildings and monuments of note.

It has a range of operating modes which allows both the pressure and the temperature of the water or steam jet to be precisely controlled, making it ideal for cleaning delicate stonework. This enables us to achieve a far superior clean whilst mitigating the risk of damage.

We will discuss your requirements in full and carry out a site visit to thoroughly assess the areas to be cleaned prior to undertaking the work.

Special Requirements

Special Requirements

We work in collaboration with conservation specialists to ensure that our planned cleaning methods conform to their strict guidelines.

We usually run a test clean on a discreet area of the stone to demonstrate our process, and identify any vulnerable, damaged or worn areas which might need specific treatment.

In this way we ensure that our treatment meets the most stringent of conservation guidelines and delivers the best possible outcome.
